What Are Humidity Indicators?
Humidity indicators are cost-effective devices used to monitor and visually display the relative humidity levels inside sealed packaging, storage containers, and moisture-sensitive environments. A humidity indicator card (HIC) contains moisture-sensitive chemicals that change color when specific humidity levels are reached or exceeded.
The percentage values printed beside each indicator spot represent different relative humidity thresholds. By observing the color change, users can quickly determine whether products have been exposed to excessive moisture during storage or transportation.
Humidity indicator cards are widely used for moisture monitoring in electronics, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, military equipment, and other humidity-sensitive products, helping prevent damage caused by excessive humidity and ensuring product quality throughout the supply chain.
